The Dividers are Pro Problem Solvers

We have been learning to solve real-life problems using maths in our group. We have been learning about this to show us why maths can be helpful in the real world.

Our teacher also gave us a challenge to see which group could do the most.
I think it was cool because it helped show me how some problems can help with real-life situations.  It was also cool because I got to work with other people I don’t usually work with. It also got me to think outside the square.

What real-life situations do you think some of these problems could help you with?

Kereru are the New Black Caps

We have been learning about how to bowl a cricket ball. Yesterday we had some people come into the school to teach our class some cricket skills. We played a bowling game and we also played a tag game. I thought it was really good. Our group bowled all the wickets out first. I think everyone in the class did really well with the cricket skills. What is your favorite position to play in cricket?

Whanaungatanga

This is an animation about Whanaungatanga. We had to make this animation to make learning about Whanaungatanga less boring. This will tell you about that value and I have set up a few examples that will hopefully make you want to watch this animation and learn about Whanaungatanga. Did you like this animation?

Kereru, Experts in Clued Up Kids

On Friday the year, 5-6's went to the Boys Brigade Hall to do Clued Up Kids. Clued Up Kids is an event you can go to where you learn all about safety and other things. There were 8 different workstations. There was 1 about trains, 1 about animals, 1 about motorbikes, and much more. We learned about how to be safe using or being around different things. I liked it because it was different from what I usually do. I also found it fun because I got to do a dark maze with the fire brigade and I got to pat a horse with the animal safety. We also learned about search and rescue and I decided that when I'm older I might volunteer for it. Have you ever been to the Clued Up Kids?
